The EOA is thrilled to introduce a new series that will take a closer look at its members and delve deeper into their organisational frameworks. “Meet our members – an interview series by the EOA” aims to offer first-hand insights into the NOAs which will allow other organisations to compare with and learn from each other.
Key information about the EOA’s member organisations can already be found on the EOA website but this new series will provide greater detail and enable NOAs to discover more about one another. Although some NOAs provide extensive information in their national language online, the EOA is pleased to deliver the interview series in English, offering greater accessibility to our members across Europe.
The EOA has been conducting ‘virtual’ visits to its members which has resulted in highly informative reports that will provide a comprehensive overview of each NOA. The interviews focused on the NOA’s historical development, organisational structure, staff, funding, relationship to the NOC and other partners, and academic and pedagogical activities. Factors such as cultural diversity, sporting policies and developments in political and Olympic structures mean that European NOAs are all distinct, which makes for interesting reading and offers a good variety of organisations to discover. As such, the information collected for the interview series will also be presented for comparative purposes.
The series begins with the EOA’s four newest members who were approved at the last General Assembly. Each week, a new interview with an NOA will be published. Links to recently published NOA interviews can be found in the list below.
