EOA working group met in Frankfurt to finalise Strategic Plan

Following the strategic plan workshop in June 2022, the EOA working group gathered for a two-day work session to further develop and finalise the long-term strategic plan. The meeting took place at the EOA Head Office in Frankfurt on 24-25 October 2022.

The working group, steered by the EOA Development and Cooperation Commission, was complemented by General Secretary Marion Guigon-Lacroix, President Prof. Dr. Manfred Laemmer and EOA staff.

Prof. Dr. Thierry Zintz, Director of the MEMOS programme and Delegate of the Belgian Olympic Academy, was invited as an external expert, giving valuable impulses and applying his great expertise to the development of the strategic plan. The document spans over the next eight years and will be presented to the General Assembly in November 2022.

The strategic plan determines the EOA’s vision, mission, values and objectives, as well as all dimensions of its functioning. It aims to serve as a guiding structure for the EOA to help defining and realising its organisational goals.

To bring the work session to a close, Prof. Dr. Laemmer expressed his gratitude towards all participants for their great contribution, and emphasised the relevance of their work that is of huge benefit to the EOA. He thanked the EOA Staff team led by Executive Director Soenke Schadwinkel for the excellent organisation of the session.
