Preparations for the EOA Congress Olympia 2024 are in full swing

Anticipation is building for this year’s EOA Congress, which will take place from 24 to 28 September at the premises of the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in Ancient Olympia. The hosts, the Hellenic Olympic Academy (HOA) and the co-host IOA, are eagerly preparing for the event. In April, EOA President Manfred Laemmer met with HOA and IOA representatives George Alikakos, Denise Panagopoulou, Makis Asimakopoulos, Alexandra Karaiskou, and Dionyssis Gangas in Athens to lay the foundations for the Congress. EOA Director Soenke Schadwinkel continued the preparatory discussions on the sidelines of the International Session for NOAs in Olympia in May.

This year’s congress will be organised in the spirit of the Olympic Games in Paris and will delve into the latest developments and insights from the Games. Sessions will focus on the human and cultural legacy of Paris 2024, as well as the development of the Olympic programme, including opportunities and threats of incorporating trend sports and e-sports. In addition, the NOAs will be given hands-on learning opportunities, with a thematic block dedicated to exploring cooperation opportunities with universities. The program promises a dynamic platform for debate and exchange among delegates, experts, and speakers through its diverse format of presentations and workshops.

EOA members and partners have been invited to the congress via email, with registration open until the end of June.
