The European Olympic Academies invite all National Olympic Academies and their networks to support the ISOH 2025 Olympic History Youth Competition!

Organised by the International Society of Olympic Historians (ISOH) with the support of the International Olympic Academy (IOA), this exciting competition encourages young participants of the 65th Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors (June 7–19, 2025, Ancient Olympia) to showcase the Olympic history of their own countries through a creative poster.

Competition Details:

  • Submission:
  • Prices:
    • The winner will be invited to the ISOH General Assembly 2025 in Istanbul.
    • All participants will receive an official certificate.
    • The best poster will be selected through a participant voting process and promoted via ISOH’s channels.

Detailed poster requirements and competition rules can be found in the official Information Letter, which is displayed at the bottom of this page.

We warmly support the appeal by ISOH President Dr Christian Wacker to encourage eligible participants to take part in this meaningful competition. The ISOH 2025 Olympic History Youth Competition offers a unique opportunity for young people to engage with the Olympic heritage of their country, to explore its pioneers, achievements, and key milestones, and to present their findings creatively to an international audience.

To celebrate Europe’s contribution to this global initiative, the EOA is planning to collect all European submissions and present them collectively at the end of the competition. Therefore, we kindly ask that all European participants send their digital posters to the EOA (info@eoaolympic.org) as well – by 1 June 2025 – in order to explore the possibility of compiling a European Olympic History poster collection. Further details will follow.

We invite all NOAs to actively motivate their nominated Young Ambassadors to participate and to support them throughout the preparation of their posters. We also encourage you to share this opportunity within your wider networks, helping to promote Olympic education and the intergenerational continuity of the Olympic ideals. By doing so, you will contribute to the wider goal of strengthening awareness of national Olympic history and fostering a deeper connection to the Olympic Movement among younger generations.
