The inaugural ISOH Youth Olympic Movement Competition, “History of the Olympic Movement in Your Country”, has come to a successful conclusion. The competition took place during the 65th International Session for Young Ambassadors at the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in Ancient Olympia, Greece, from 7 to 19 June – and Europe was at the heart of it.
The European Olympic Academies (EOA) proudly congratulate the 18 European countries whose young representatives actively contributed to this inspiring cultural and educational initiative. Participants from Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine submitted creative poster entries that showcased the rich Olympic heritage of their nations and reflected their perspectives on Olympic values.
The competition, organised by the International Society of Olympic Historians (ISOH) in cooperation with the IOA and supported by the EOA, invited young ambassadors to visualise the development of the Olympic Movement in their home countries. With overwhelming participation and outstanding quality of submissions, the European contribution demonstrated the commitment of our continent to Olympic Education and heritage preservation.
Prof. Dr. Maria Bulatova, ISOH Executive Board Member, praised the EOA network for its contribution, stating:
“The number of participants and the quality of the Olympic posters demonstrate the leadership and effectiveness of the EOA’s activities in preserving the Olympic heritage and strengthening the Olympic values.”
