Preparations for the 7th EOA Congress Prague 2025 in Full Swing

The countdown is on: in less than two months, the European Olympic Academies will gather in Prague for a week that promises to be as thought-provoking as it is unifying. With the Czech Olympic Academy as our host, the final preparations are now in full swing. Together, we are shaping a programme designed to create an excellent setting for open dialogue, inspire critical thinking, and encourage collaborative action.

The Olympic Movement finds itself at a pivotal moment. From the threat posed by the Enhanced Games to the need to reconcile the climate crisis with the future of the Winter Games, new formats and global challenges are testing the very foundations of Olympic sports. Autocratic governments increasingly use sport as a stage for political influence, while populist trends risk polarising the road to Los Angeles 2028. Meanwhile, the recent appointment of the first woman to lead the Olympic Movement marks a historic milestone, prompting reflections on the cultural, political, and strategic changes this could bring.

The Congress programme will provide a platform for open and informed debate, bringing together voices from across Europe to examine how Olympic Academies across Europe can address and/or adapt to these pressing challenges. Keynotes, panel discussions, and interactive workshops will create opportunities to share expertise, exchange innovative approaches, and work towards strategies that preserve the relevance and strength of Olympic values in a rapidly changing world.

A highlight of the week will be the gala evening, offering a cultural and historical journey through the heart of Prague. Guests will be introduced to selected landmarks before convening at the Tyrš House, the very site of the legendary 1925 IOC Congress.  Marking its centenary, the occasion invites reflection on this historic event’s lasting impact on the Olympic Movement. The evening will include the opening of a special exhibition, the EOA Flame Awards 2025 Ceremony in this symbolic setting, and a keynote revisiting the legacy and significance of the 1925 Congress.

All EOA members and partners have already received a formal invitation to the Congress and are kindly reminded to complete their registration by August 23, 2025. Interested stakeholders who have not yet been invited but wish to attend are welcome to contact us at info@eoaolympic.org for further coordination.
