The kick-off meeting of the new Erasmus+ project Integrity and Values Atlas in the Neighbourhood Region took place on 12–13 September in Chisinau, Moldova, hosted by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Moldova. The meeting gathered all partners to start the project, exchange expertise and agree on management, coordination and communication strategies.
A central part of the meeting was a workshop on research methodology led by Moldova State University. This research will analyse the current state and challenges related to integrity in sport in Moldova and Ukraine. Based on these results, partners will develop a national roadmap to promote integrity, alongside capacity-building training and local activities for sport federations in both countries.
The project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme and represents a collaborative effort of key stakeholders, including the National Olympic Committees of Moldova and Ukraine, Moldova State University, ENGSO and the European Olympic Academies (EOA). EOA was represented on site in Chisinau by Senior Advisor Soenke Schadwinkel.
The next phase will focus on research: comparative analysis, surveys and interviews will provide deeper insights into the perception of integrity, its challenges and good practices in the two countries. With this initiative, the partners underline their commitment to strengthening integrity as a core value of the Sport Movement in the Neighbourhood Region.
