OLYMPIC DAY FESTIVAL CELEBRATED IN BELARUS – EOA Family Celebrates Olympic Day (VI)

On 27 June, the National Olympic Stadium Dinamo in Minsk became the venue for the Olympic Day Festival, an annual celebration promoting Olympic values and encouraging participation in sport. More than 10,000 children, young people and adults took part in the event organised by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian Olympic Academy. Held each year as part of the worldwide Olympic Day celebrations, the festival reflects the commitment of the Olympic Movement to promoting education through sport, healthy lifestyles and active communities. The celebration highlights the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect, inspiring people of all ages to discover the joy of sport and physical activity.

The festival featured an interactive Olympic Quest, with more than 20 sports stations where children, young people and adults had the opportunity to engage with different Olympic sports, take part in practical activities, receive advice from coaches and learn more about opportunities to participate in organised sport. All participants received Olympic Day souvenirs provided by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

Olympic champions, medallists and distinguished Belarusian athletes actively engaged with participants throughout the day, sharing their sporting experience, encouraging young people to pursue an active lifestyle and demonstrating the values of the Olympic Movement through direct interaction with visitors.

As part of the Olympic Day Festival, the Belarusian Olympic Academy organised traditional Olympic Quiz, reflecting its ongoing mission to promote Olympic education and advance the values of the Olympic Movement in the Republic of Belarus. The Quiz brought together 32 teams, whose participants demonstrated their knowledge of the Olympic Movement, the history of the Olympic Games and Belarusian sport while working together to solve a series of challenging questions.

The Olympic Day Festival concluded with a festive concert and a fireworks display, marking the successful completion of a day that brought together sport, education and culture while celebrating the values of the Olympic Movement.
