Olympic Day 2026 Across Albania: From North to South, Communities Unite Through Olympic Values – EOA Family Celebrates Olympic Day (II)

With great pleasure we continue to look back to the Olympic Day activities of our members! In todays second part the celebrations in Albania are in the spotlight.

The spirit of the Olympic Movement reached communities across Albania during the Olympic Day 2026 celebrations, bringing together thousands of students, teachers, parents, athletes, volunteers, municipalities, and local communities in a nationwide celebration of sport, education, and Olympic values.

Organized by the Albanian Olympic Academy, with the support of the Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSH), the activities were held throughout May and June in cities and schools across the country, creating a unique journey from North to South Albania where the Olympic message of Excellence, Respect, and Friendship was shared with young generations and communities.

Olympic Week at Schools

During the Olympic Week, schools throughout Albania organized educational and sporting activities dedicated to the Olympic Movement, fair play, teamwork, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles. Students took part in Olympic Education sessions, sports activities, and discussions highlighting the role of sport in personal development, social responsibility, and building positive values.

Schools from different regions of Albania actively joined this initiative, transforming educational environments into spaces where young people could experience the Olympic spirit and strengthen their understanding of the values that unite sport and society.

Olympic Day Celebrations in Cities

The Olympic Day celebrations continued across Albania, involving communities from North to South in cities such as Korçë, Elbasan, Mallakastër (Bylis), Durrës, Rrëshen, and Lezhë. Students, teachers, parents, athletes, municipalities, and local institutions participated in activities combining sport, education, culture, and community engagement. A special highlight of the celebrations was the symbolic passage of the Olympic Flame through the cities, welcomed by young participants and citizens as a powerful message of unity, friendship, peace, and inspiration.

With the support of municipalities, educational structures, and local media, Olympic Day 2026 strengthened the role of sport as a tool for education, inclusion, cultural connection, and youth development. The nationwide participation demonstrated the growing impact of Olympic Education in Albania and reinforced the commitment to inspiring future generations through the values of the Olympic Movement.

During these celebrations, the President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSH) shared the message across Albania that sport goes beyond competition — it is a powerful instrument for education, social inclusion, cultural connection, and building a healthier future for young people.

Through the Olympic Day 2026 celebrations, the Albanian Olympic Academy brought the spirit of the Olympic Movement closer to young people and communities throughout the country, creating an important legacy for the continued promotion of Olympic Education in schools and society.
