The Olympic History Youth Poster Competition, hosted by the ISOH International Society of Olympic Historians and the International Olympic Academy, has been a major highlight of the 66th International Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors in Ancient Olympia.
The competition invited young participants from across the world to explore and present the stories of the pioneering athletes who first represented their nations at the Olympic Games. Through historical research, creativity, and visual storytelling, participants demonstrated a remarkable commitment to preserving and promoting the heritage of the Olympic Movement.
A total of 52 Young Olympic Ambassadors from 37 countries participated in the competition. Europe was strongly represented by 12 participants from 11 countries: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Turkey (2 participants), and Ukraine. Their contributions reflected both the rich diversity of European Olympic history and the shared values that unite the Olympic family.
The highest-ranked European entry was submitted by Lika Khabelov (Georgia), whose poster was recognized as the best among all European participants.
European representatives also distinguished themselves in several special award categories:
- Best Historical Accuracy – Burak Colak (Turkey)
- Most Original Concept – Agnete Elmeros Jersild (Denmark)
- Informative Value and Visual Clarity – Viva Kovac and Ivan Relic (Croatia)
These outstanding achievements highlight the important role of young people in safeguarding Olympic heritage and bringing its stories to new generations.
