EOA Flame Awards Jury 2025 – Collaboration Across the Olympic Movement

The EOA Flame Awards have quickly become a highlight of our annual calendar, celebrating the most inspiring projects in Olympic Education and Olympic Heritage across Europe. In the first two editions, the EOA Board had the honour of evaluating all submissions, recognising outstanding initiatives such as the Slovenian Olympic Academy and Olympic Academy of Ukraine in 2023, and the German and Hellenic Olympic Academy next to the National Olympic Academy of France in 2024. These winners have set a high benchmark for creativity, commitment, and the promotion of Olympic values.

In 2025, the selection process enters a new phase of collaboration. For the first time, our jury combines the trusted leadership of the EOA Board with the expertise of our close partners from the International Olympic Academy (IOA), the European Olympic Committees (EOC), as well as members of the EOA Heritage and Education Commissions. This broader composition brings together a rich variety of perspectives and experiences, ensuring the awards continue to reflect the diversity and excellence of the Olympic Movement in Europe.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners at the IOA and EOC for their commitment and support in this initiative. Their engagement not only strengthens the credibility of the EOA Flame Awards but also ensures that the evaluation process benefits from truly international expertise at the highest level of the Olympic Movement. Alongside these valued partners, the members of our EOA Heritage Commission and EOA Education Commission also make an essential contribution to the jury. Their expertise, knowledge of the respective fields, and ability to link academic insight with practical application add valuable depth to the selection. Together with our EOA Board representatives, this collaboration guarantees a fair, balanced, and representative decision-making framework.

Who will join the ranks of our previous awardees?

We already wish to thank our member academies across Europe for the effort and passion they have invested in their submissions. This year’s Flame Awards feature entries from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Lithuania, Hungary, Serbia, Kosovo, Ireland, and Germany – each bringing unique perspectives and projects that enrich the Olympic Movement.

We look forward to announcing the winners during the EOA Congress in Prague – honouring them with the same recognition and respect as those who came before. Until then, we wish the jury thoughtful deliberations and all projects from across Europe the very best of luck.
