The EOA Flame Award Trophies

EOA Flame Awards 2025 Presented at the Gala Dinner in Prague

At the Gala Dinner of the Seventh EOA Congress in Prague, held on 7 October 2025 at the historic Tyrš House, the European Olympic Academies (EOA) proudly presented the EOA Flame Awards 2025, celebrating outstanding contributions to Olympic education and heritage across Europe.

This year’s ceremony symbolically bridged the past and present of the Olympic Movement: A fitting tribute to Prague’s Olympic legacy, marking 100 years since the 1925 Olympic Congress. The festive evening, hosted by Olympian Tomáš Verner and enriched by musical performances from Radka Fišarová, brought together delegates from over 30 National Olympic Academies to honour projects that exemplify the living spirit of Olympism.

Celebrating the EOA Flame Award Winners 2025

Now in its third edition, the EOA Flame Awards have taken a further step forward. For the first time, the 2025 selection process was conducted by a newly established EOA Flame Awards Jury, bringing together representatives of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the International Olympic Academy (IOA), and the EOA Education and Heritage Commissions, ensuring an even more transparent and collaborative evaluation process than before.

In both award categories, two projects were distinguished with first place for their exceptional impact, innovation, and cultural significance:

EOA Flame Award 2025 – Olympic Heritage

In the Olympic Heritage category, the Czech Olympic Academy was recognised for its innovative project Olympic Multimedia Library ŠUPČÍK. This dynamic digital archive safeguards the visual memory of Czech Olympism and offers interactive access to historical footage and photographs that celebrate the nation’s Olympic legacy.

Equally honoured was the National Olympic Academy of Ukraine for its publication, Memorabilia in Olympic Culture and Heritage. This encyclopaedic work explores the artistic and historical dimensions of Olympic memorabilia, preserving and interpreting the cultural identity of the Olympic Movement in Ukraine.

EOA Flame Award 2025 – Olympic Education

The Serbian Olympic Academy received the EOA Flame Award 2025 for its nationwide school programme Promotion of Olympic Values: Respect, Friendship and Excellence. The initiative brings the Olympic ideals directly into classrooms across Serbia, empowering teachers and students alike to embrace and live the core values of respect, friendship, and excellence in their daily lives.

Also honoured in this category was the joint project of the German Olympic Academy, the German Sports Youth (dsj), and the French Olympic Committee (CNOSF) for the German-French Olympic Youth Camp Paris 2024. Held alongside the Olympic Games in Paris, the programme offered young participants from both countries a unique intercultural experience of Olympism through education, dialogue, and shared activities that fostered mutual understanding and lasting friendship.
